Mandy Tröger Editor

Mandy Tröger, PhD (b. 1980), is an associate professor at Södertörn University in Stockholm, where – as part of her Wallenberg Academy Fellowship – she is leading a research project on NATO‘s communication history. She is also an associate researcher at the Media, Inequality & Change (MIC) Center at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania. Previously, she was a Walter Benjamin Fellow of the German Research Foundation (DFG) at the University of Tübingen, where she completed her second qualifying book (Habilitation) in 2026. She earned her PhD in Media and Communications Research from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) in 2018. Her research focuses on media and communication history, political economy, and transformation studies. Since 2024, she has been co-editor of Journalistik / Journalism Research.
